This Brutal Reality Must Be Prevented With Your Help: Protest in Front of the ICRC
A group of young people from Artsakh gathered in front of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) office in Armenia and blocked the entrances. They are seeking clarification on "what justification Baku has for rejecting the preliminary agreement to transfer the body of 21-year-old Helen Dadayan from the tragic Giumri-Yerevan accident back to Artsakh."
“At this moment, you are surrounded, and you will not leave until you provide us with an answer to our pressing question. You are in a blockade against the blockade, and for a certain period, you will feel what the people of Artsakh are feeling. This brutal reality must be prevented with your help. There is no one else at this moment who can assist this family. We request that you alert the main office and resolve this situation; otherwise, your mission in Armenia and Artsakh becomes meaningless,” declared the protest participants.
They are demanding that the ICRC either explain the reasons for Azerbaijan's refusal or execute their rights under the Geneva Conventions and transfer Helen Dadayan's body to Artsakh so that the family can say goodbye to their daughter.
“One of the leaders of the ICRC office in Armenia came down; we asked questions, but no answers were provided to our inquiries, which is why we decided to block the office,” stated a participant in the protest.
It is worth noting that earlier today, Facebook user Vardan Harutyunyan wrote, "Days ago, the Red Cross had reached a preliminary agreement with Baku to transfer the body of Helen Dadayan, an Artsakh resident and the victim of the tragic accident on the Giumri-Yerevan road, back to Artsakh today. However, Baku rejected this request this morning."
