NGN on Tragic Car Crash in Lori Province: Injured are 7 and 9-Year-Old Children

On August 18, at 20:01, the Crisis Management Center of the Lori Regional Rescue Department received a notification that an accident had occurred near the village of Shirakamut, and there were casualties. This was reported by the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

A team from the regional rescue department's firefighting and rescue squad was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that a vehicle, an 'Opel Astra', had left the roadway on the 10th kilometer of the Spitak-Gyumri highway, crashed into a roadside barrier, and overturned.

Before the rescuers arrived, passenger A.S. (born in 1984) died on the spot, while the injured M.S. (born in 2014) and M.S. (born in 2016) were hospitalized.

The rescuers deactivated the vehicle and closed the gas cylinder valve.
