VIDEO: Fire Breaks Out at UMMC Arena in Yekaterinburg, 200 Evacuated
A fire has broken out at the UMMC Arena, an ice sports facility under construction in the center of Yekaterinburg, Russia. This has been reported by Russian media, citing the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
“On August 17 at noon, the Yekaterinburg fire department received a report about a fire that broke out at a construction site on Stepan Razin Street. Firefighting units arriving at the scene determined that smoke was coming from the roof. Prior to the firefighters' arrival, 200 people had been evacuated,” the report states.
The firefighters are currently investigating the building to identify the fire's source. The Ministry of Emergency Situations has reported that there are no known injuries at this time.
