Video: Forest Fire Erupts on Spanish Tenerife Island; Four Villages Evacuated

A forest fire has erupted in the natural park near the Teide volcano on the Spanish Canary Island of Tenerife. Spanish authorities ordered the evacuation of four villages on Wednesday.

The fire started last night, raging in the northeast of the island and in deep ravines, complicating firefighting efforts.

As a precautionary measure, residents of the four villages have been ordered to evacuate, and roads have been closed, according to a statement from the Canary Islands government.
