Artsakh Health Ministry Denies Reports of Pregnant Woman's Death
Today, media outlets reported information regarding the death of a pregnant woman in the village of Haterk in Artsakh. In a conversation with Panorama.am, officials from the Artsakh Republic's Ministry of Health did not confirm the report.
“This is not a new case; it refers to an incident that occurred in Haterk a month ago. We made this clear before; it is not the pregnant woman who has died, but the fetus,” said the ministry's spokesperson, Angelina Isakhanyan.
It is noted that yesterday, the Human Rights Defender of Armenia published a statement mentioning, “In conditions of insufficient food supply, there has been an increase in cases of premature births in Nagorno-Karabakh. There has also been a case of a stillborn child in the village of Haterk in the Martakert region, due to the inaccessibility of emergency assistance caused by a lack of fuel.”
Recall that today, a Facebook user named Anna Mangasaryan and political figure Arshak Abrahamyan reported on the death of a stillborn child in the village of Haterk in the Martakert region. Later, Arshak Abrahamyan deleted his post and stated that he was verifying details regarding the case of the pregnant woman with the original sources of the information, and subsequently shared the link to the post by the aforementioned user.
