A Turkish National Detained in Ijevan
An extraordinary incident occurred in the city of Ijevan in the Tavush province. This was reported by the daily newspaper 'Hraparak'.
Passengers on the Ijevan-Achajur public transport noticed a suspicious individual who was speaking Turkish on the phone. They observed that he was receiving calls from Turkish phone numbers. The passengers demanded that the driver stop the bus and contacted the police.
The bus driver noted in an interview with the media that the passengers thought the suspicious individual was Azerbaijani; however, the police determined that he was actually Turkish. 'He was a Turk from Turkey, the police came and took him away, we didn’t find out anything else,' the driver said.
The newspaper reported, 'We were informed that passengers became agitated upon hearing someone speaking Turkish, but the driver told us that people were quite tolerant towards the Turk and there was no panic.'
