The Second Games of the CIS Countries Concluded in Belarus: Armenian Athletes Claimed 8 Medals

The Second Games of the CIS Countries concluded in Belarus in 2023. Armenia secured 8 medals and placed 6th among 22 countries. Russia emerged as the champion of the tournament, as reported by armsport.am.

Among the representatives of Armenia, gold medals were won by:

• Sahak Hovhannisyan (67 kg) – Greco-Roman Wrestling
• Boris Shatveryan (79 kg) – Sambo

Silver medals were awarded to:

• Nare Gabrielian – Shooting
• Surik Harutyunyan (67 kg) – Karate

Bronze medals were claimed by:

• Samvel Grigoryan (82 kg) – Greco-Roman Wrestling
• Norik Harutyunyan (61 kg) – Freestyle Wrestling
• Azat Karapetyan (86 kg) – Freestyle Wrestling
• Sergei Sargsyan (97 kg) – Freestyle Wrestling

The men's and women's volleyball teams of Armenia also participated in the tournament. The men's team achieved victories against the UAE and Tajikistan, finishing in 4th place. However, the women's team lost all their matches.

Additionally, the Armenian field hockey team participated in the tournament but ended up in last place, losing all their matches.
