High Thermal Background to Persist: Weather Forecast for Upcoming Days

From August 15 to 19, prevalent dry weather is expected across the territory of the Republic. Winds will be coming from the southeast at 2-3 m/s. In the Aragatsotn and Kotayk foothills and in Armavir, wind intensification is anticipated in the evening with speeds reaching 13-16 m/s.

The air temperature is expected to gradually decrease by 2-4 degrees on August 18 and 19. In Yerevan, from August 15 to 19, dry weather will also prevail. On August 15, as well as in the evenings of August 17-19, wind intensification is anticipated with speeds of 10-13 m/s.

During the daytime from August 15 to 17, between 16:00-18:00, temperatures in the Ararat Valley, Syunik gorges, and Yerevan are forecasted to reach up to +39…+40 degrees.

From August 15 to 19, high fire risk situations are also expected in Yerevan, the Ararat Valley, the foothills of Aragatsotn, Kotayk, Vayots Dzor, as well as in the Syunik and Tavush gorges.
