At least 12 people have died and 65 others have been injured in an explosion that occurred in the Dominican Republic. Additionally, 55 people are reported missing. This information was reported by CNN, citing a statement from the country's Red Cross office.

The incident took place near a shopping center in the Villa Valdes area of San Cristobal province. The explosion fully destroyed three buildings.
