Attempt to Import Gold Jewelry from Armenia to Georgia Prevented
Customs officials of the Georgian Revenue Service at the Georgian-Armenian "Sadakhlo-Bagrateshen" border point have prevented an attempt to import a large quantity of gold jewelry.
According to the statement, undeclared gold items weighing up to 2 kilograms were discovered during a detailed inspection of luggage belonging to citizens of Kazakhstan, identified as Sh.N. and S.S.
It is noted that the offenders concealed the valuable items in food packaging and in the trunk of a vehicle used for taxi services. The total customs value of the goods amounted to 189,040 GEL and 96 tetri. The case has been transferred to the investigative service of the Ministry of Finance for further action,” the Revenue Service's statement indicated, as reported by Aliq.ge.
