Amalya, Who Died in the Accident, Was Traveling to Western Armenia with Her Fiancé, Whose Condition is Serious
24-year-old Amalya Mnatsakanyan, who tragically lost her life in a fire that claimed the lives of 11 people near the village of Lanjik on the Yerevan-Gyumri highway on August 14, was originally from Gegharkunik Province and lived in Yerevan. This was reported by NEWS.am.
Amalya had studied at Brusov State University. She worked as a trainer at the organization “Future in Our Hands.” “She was a very kind, goal-oriented, and strong girl. She loved to travel. Two years ago, she left our area and taught English in rural areas for two years under the Teach For Armenia program,” representatives from the organization told the media.
Amalya was traveling to Western Armenia with her fiancé, 23-year-old Eduard Koloyan, who is in serious condition.
Recall that on the night of August 14, a passenger microbus of the Volkswagen brand collided with a ZIL truck near the village of Lanjik on the Yerevan-Gyumri highway. Eleven citizens died, including the driver of the microbus and a tour guide from Hamshen Tour, while six others were seriously injured. Five of the injured are in the intensive care unit, four of whom are in serious condition, and one is in critical condition. The driver of the ZIL truck is also among the injured.
The passengers of the tragic accident were returning from a trip to Western Armenia.
