The Assets of the Judge Who Ruled in the Case Involving Ashot Pashinyan
The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that the judge of the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan, Manvel Shahverdyan, who announced the verdict in the court case involving Nikol Pashinyan's son, has acquired a new apartment in the Shengavit administrative district through a mortgage worth 42 million 97 thousand drams. In addition, he purchased an apartment in the city of Ararat in 1985 and another one in Shengavit in 2010.
The judge has declared ownership of a garage that does not belong to him but is used by him. He has declared two cars: a MAZDA purchased in 2019 and an OPEL acquired in 2008. The balances in his bank accounts amount to 100 thousand drams, while his cash holdings total 2 million 400 thousand drams. His reported income for the past year has reached 12 million 214 thousand drams, of which 8 million 844 thousand drams comes from his salary at the Legal Department of the Supreme Judicial Council of Armenia, and he received 2 million 966 thousand drams from the state budget, which is a tax refund on income.
As of December 31 of the reporting year, the outstanding principal amount of received loans and borrowings stood at 46 million 363 thousand drams.
It is worth mentioning that he is the judge who stated in court to Ashot Pashinyan: "I am not constrained by either you or your father." Shahverdyan said this, yet he executed the decision favored by the authorities.
