Blockade of Lachin Corridor is Genocide Against Artsakh Armenians, Says Former ICC Prosecutor on Situation in Artsakh
There are no machete attacks in Artsakh, hunger is the invisible weapon of genocide. This was stated by the former prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), referring to the situation in Artsakh, which has been under blockade for 241 days.
In his remarks, former ICC prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo assessed Azerbaijan's actions regarding the blockade of the Lachin corridor. He noted why all this should be considered genocide against the ethnic Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, citing Article 2 of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, which refers to the 'deliberate infliction of conditions of life calculated to bring about physical destruction.'
The former prosecutor of the ICC stated that it was an honor for him to provide an impartial report in support of the situation. Ocampo also expressed his readiness to assist any party seeking to prevent the extermination of Armenians in this region.
