Actress Tatevik Hovakimyan to Participate in Municipal Elections with CP Party's List
ArmLur.am reports that theatre and film actress Tatevik Hovakimyan attended a meeting of the ruling "Civil Contract" party's initiative group yesterday.
During that meeting, the electoral list of the party for the upcoming Yerevan municipal elections was presented, and organizational issues related to the elections were also discussed.
ArmLur.am contacted actress Tatevik Hovakimyan to understand whether she intends to enter politics and possibly participate in the municipal elections with the CP party's list. She confirmed that she has received an invitation.
“I received an invitation from the 'Civil Contract' party to become a member of the council and work in the cultural sector. You know that every council also has its functions, including cultural ones. Politicizing all this, especially in the case of the council, and labeling it as entering politics seems very exaggerated to me, especially since I have no ambition to engage in politics. I am interested in addressing the issues of the country that fall within my competencies, in this case, culture. There are theatres and cultural institutions that fall under the municipality's jurisdiction. I believe I am competent to deal with their issues and provide solutions. I have accepted the invitation and will participate in the upcoming municipal elections. I am interested in that, of course, if there are any other pressing issues in Yerevan, I will inform about them, but I am much more interested in the field in which I am,” said the actress.
