Video: Flood Sweeps Away Homes as Evacuations Take Place in Alaska

In Juneau, the capital of Alaska, a dam has collapsed due to the rapid melting of the Mendenhall Glacier. The resulting flood has swept away one of the two homes, while several roads in the area are now submerged.

Authorities have declared a state of emergency and noted that the glacier is melting at an accelerated rate due to rising temperatures, which could significantly shrink by 2050, leading to more intense flooding in the region.
