Powerful Heat Wave Enters Armenia, Sharp Rise in Temperatures Expected
Despite scientific analyses indicating that extreme heat was not expected in our region for the month of August (as announced during a press conference on August 4), a significant change in atmospheric circulation is bringing a powerful heat wave from the Arabian Peninsula to Armenia starting August 10. This will lead to a sharp increase in temperatures, expected to rise by about 4-6 degrees compared to today.
The Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center reports that during the period from August 10 to 13, the highest temperatures in the Ararat valley and Yerevan are expected to reach between +40 to +42 degrees Celsius during the day, particularly between 16:00 and 18:00.
Additionally, from August 10 to 13, a high fire danger situation is anticipated in Yerevan, the Ararat valley, the foothills of Aragat, Kotayk, Vayots Dzor, as well as in the valleys of Syunik and Tavush.
