Warsaw Proposes Complete Closure of EU Border with Minsk

Warsaw proposes to completely close the EU border with Belarus. This was announced today, August 2, during a press conference by Poland's Deputy Foreign Minister Maciej Wonsik.

"Poland, Lithuania, and Latvia must fully isolate Belarus," the diplomat stated.

Earlier, the Polish Ministry of Defense reported that two Belarusian military helicopters had crossed the border, entering the neighboring country’s airspace. The Polish diplomat's statement came right after this incident. According to Poland, this occurred during military exercises taking place in western Belarus.

"This incident is perceived as another episode of escalating tensions at the Polish-Belarusian border," it was declared in the capital.
