Japan and Italy Begin Joint Military Exercises with Fighter Jets Involved
The Japan Air Self-Defense Force is commencing joint exercises with the Italian Air Force. According to Teller Report, the exercises will take place from August 2 to 10.
It is noted that four F-15 fighter jets and one Boeing KC-767 tanker from Japan will participate, alongside four F-35A jets from Italy.
In recent years, Tokyo and Rome have been expanding their cooperation in the defense sector. In December 2022, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Italy reached an agreement on the joint development of a next-generation fighter jet, which is expected to be ready by 2035.
