VIDEO: Prevention of Transporting Over 2 Tons of Undeclared Clothing in Bagratashen – SRS
The Customs Department of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia has prevented the transportation of a large quantity of undeclared clothing, exceeding 2 tons. This was reported by the press service of the SRC.
Specifically, a truck that arrived at the customs post was driven by Armenian citizen G.S., carrying goods registered with a transit declaration filled out at the Russian Federation’s ‘Verin Lars’ checkpoint.
“As a result of the monitoring carried out by customs officials, it became clear that there were undeclared goods in the truck. In particular, there was a total of 2330 kg of new clothing, valued at 2 million 542 thousand Russian rubles, approximately 11 million drams,” the statement indicated.
A transit declaration concerning the mentioned cargo had been prepared at the RF ‘Verin Lars’ checkpoint. It is worth noting that initially, there was no declaration for these goods; it was drafted two days after the goods arrived at the Bagratashen checkpoint.
Officials of the RF customs service later “revoked” this declaration, considering it invalid, as the goods should be present at the customs authority of the exporting country at the time of declaration.
In relation to the incident, a report was drawn up regarding the violation of customs regulations based on the provisions of Article 316 of the Law on Customs Regulation of Armenia. The goods have been seized along with the transport vehicle within the customs post area in Bagratashen.
