This Year, 210 Yards in Yerevan to be Renovated, 5.7 Billion Drams Allocated: Tigran Avinyan
"The Civil Contract party has implemented the programs we spoke about back in 2017 for the past five years. These programs are not whims of ours; they are based on the feedback from Yerevan residents," said Yerevan Deputy Mayor Tigran Avinyan during a fundraising event ahead of the city council elections.
According to him, starting from August 15, there will be no more 'Gazelle' minibuses serving as public transport in Yerevan.
"We have been informed that elevators installed between the 1950s and 1970s, and recently found to be dangerous in buildings from the 2000s to 2010s, pose risks in numerous apartment complexes. Many have been replaced in the last five years as well. In the upcoming five years, I want to clearly confirm that all remaining 3,149 elevators in Yerevan will be replaced," he noted.
Avinyan also emphasized that this year, a budget of 5.7 billion drams has been allocated for renovating city yards and replacing garages with football fields and recreation areas. "Yards are filled with garages. While Yerevan may be suitable for garages, it is not conducive for Yerevan residents, children, and recreation. To compare, in the last 10 years, no amount equal to what has been allocated this year has been set aside," said Tigran Avinyan.
He added that 210 yards in Yerevan will undergo renovation this year.
