Why the Culture Ministry Prohibited Employees from Using Apple Devices in Russia
The Russian Ministry of Culture has banned its employees from using technology from Apple Inc. This was reported by the Telegram channel 'Осторожно, новости,' citing its sources.
"The Ministry of Culture has prohibited employees from using Apple devices. This order appeared in the ministry’s electronic document management system last week. Soon it will be submitted for employees' signatures," reported the Telegram channel, according to Ura.ru.
At the same time, Russian media outlets, citing sources, indicate that ministry officials are dissatisfied with such restrictions.
"Due to the ban, all contacts must be transferred to other devices, and no service phones will be provided to anyone, so employees are currently worried about acquiring new devices," the channel noted.
URA.RU has sent an inquiry to the Russian Ministry of Culture to verify the information. There has been no response so far.
Earlier, the Russian FSB reported that U.S. intelligence services were spying on users of Apple devices. According to the agency, the gadgets are infected with harmful software provisions. This is the reason why employees of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade have been prohibited from using devices from the American company.
