Video: Terror Attack in Pakistan Leaves 44 Dead and Over 100 Injured

At least 44 people have died and more than 100 have been injured in a suicide bomber explosion at a gathering of the ruling coalition, the Islamic Scholars' Assembly, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwest Pakistan. This was reported by the Dawn newspaper, citing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Health Minister Riaz Anwar.

“It was a suicide attack,” he stated, “the terrorist detonated himself right near the stage.” Earlier, Geo News had reported that the assault had resulted in 40 fatalities and more than 200 injuries. The injured are in various conditions and have been hospitalized.

The explosion occurred around 4:00 PM local time (3:00 PM Yerevan time) when one of the party leaders was conversing with a group of supporters, totaling around 400 people, authorities added.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered an investigation into the incident and to find those responsible, notes Geo News.
