Video: Shell Casings, Knife, Blood-like Traces - Gunshots on Tigran Mets Avenue
Today, on July 20, gunshots were heard in Yerevan. Around 21:30, information was received at the Yerevan Police Department and the Central Police Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia that gunshots were fired on Tigran Mets Avenue, opposite "Yerevan City." According to Shamshyan.com, the head of the Yerevan Police Department, General Major Sevan Kocharyan, the deputy head in charge of operational activities Khoren Barkhoyan, and the head of the criminal investigation department Arthur Hakobyan quickly arrived at the scene.
Also present were the first deputy head of the Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, Armen Petrosyan, and the operational group of the Central Police Division led by the division head Yervand Nikoyan. The patrol officers of the 2nd Battalion of the Patrol Service of the Yerevan City Police also arrived promptly, led by the battalion commander Andranik Isakhanyan and the deputy battalion commander David Nikoghosyan. The patrols have cordoned off the area and are currently conducting increased services.
At the scene, 2 fired shell casings, a knife, blood-like traces, and glasses were found. The police are currently investigating whether any injured citizens have been transported to the hospital as a result of the incident. Forensic experts from the Forensic Examination Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia and a group from the Yerevan Investigative Division of the Investigative Committee of Armenia covering the Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts have also arrived at the scene.
