The drone was displayed at a parade in the capital of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Pyongyang, commemorating the 70th anniversary of victory in the Korean War. The "Hyeol-1" drone is believed to measure at least ten meters in length and have a diameter of about one and a half meters. It features a chessboard color scheme of black and orange stripes.

Previously, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un had shown new North Korean drones to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, which are said to bear a resemblance to American models.
