A Criminal Case of International Terrorism Has Been Initiated in Artsakh
The leadership of the Republic of Azerbaijan has violated the provisions of the sixth point of the trilateral statement signed on November 9, 2020, between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the President of the Russian Federation, with the aim of provoking international complications and destabilizing the internal situation in the Republic of Artsakh. According to this provision, Azerbaijan guarantees the security of the movement of citizens, vehicles, and goods in both directions along the Lachin corridor. This was reported by the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Artsakh.
Furthermore, ignoring and failing to implement the decision of the International Court of Justice of The Hague regarding the unblocking of the Lachin corridor dated February 22, 2023, which was reaffirmed by the same Court on July 6, 2023, Azerbaijan completely blocked the Lachin corridor from June 15, 2023, preventing the entry of vital supplies, medicines, food, and other necessary goods, including about 400 tons of humanitarian cargo sent from the Republic of Armenia on July 27, 2023. In doing so, Azerbaijan has organized and carried out other actions aimed at the destruction of the Armenian population of the Republic of Artsakh, which has resulted in the death of infants in the city of Martakert and has caused obstacles to childbirth and other severe consequences.
A criminal case has been initiated on July 28, 2023, under the first part of Article 415 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Artsakh regarding the characteristics of the crime stipulated for international terrorism. The legality of the pre-trial criminal proceedings and procedural management is carried out by the Division of Crimes Against Humanity and General Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of Artsakh.
