Video: Explosions in Greek Armory Leave Several Injured
Several people have been injured in Nea Anchialos, central Greece, due to explosions in an ammunition depot, with reports indicating injuries from shattered glass, as reported by state broadcaster ERT.
"Several residents of Nea Anchialos have been injured from broken window shards, four ambulances are on-site, and some residents are leaving the area in their boats," ERT reported.
Authorities are calling for the closure of gas stations near the emergency scene.
ERT has also reported that continuous explosions can be heard due to a fire that broke out in the ammunition depot, with sounds reported as far away as Volos.
It is noted that this pertains to an armory of the Air Force. The AMNA news agency in Athens reported that the explosions began at 5:45 PM and can be heard in the city of Volos and almost throughout Magnesia. This area has been experiencing a raging fire for the second consecutive day.
