Just Half an Hour Before the Incident, He Spoke with His Family and Asked His Mother to Send Him Some Things: A Villager on the Soldier Who Died Yesterday

In yet-to-be-determined circumstances, soldier Murad Seryozhayi Grigoryan from the N military unit of the Ministry of Defense received a fatal gunshot wound. He was from the Vazashen community in the Tavush region and was serving in Vayk.

In a conversation with NEWS.am, a villager recounted that Murad would have turned 19 on September 1. His father was a contract serviceman, and his mother was a housewife. He had a 15-year-old brother. After graduating from high school, he studied in the automotive mechanics department at the Ijevan Technical College.

“He spoke with his family half an hour before the incident, asking his mother to send him some things. He also talked to friends and was in a good mood. We still don’t know exactly what happened; there are various rumors in the village,” our interlocutor noted.

He added that Murad had joined the 'Defender of the Homeland' program six months after completing his service, which required him to serve on a contract basis for five years.

It is important to note that according to a statement from the Ministry of Defense, at around 16:30 on July 26, soldier Murad Seryozhayi Grigoryan received a fatal gunshot wound under yet-to-be-determined circumstances. According to the Investigative Committee, the soldier's body was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the head, lying on the ground next to an empty magazine.

A criminal case has been initiated based on the characteristics of Article 523 (causing someone to commit suicide) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. All possible theories regarding the circumstances of the soldier's fatal gunshot wound are under investigation.
