Azerbaijan Has Made a Clear Demand: Armenian Trucks Will Not Enter the Lachin Corridor, Says Driver

The humanitarian convoy from Armenia is still in the Lachin corridor. The trucks are carrying 60 tons of sugar, 40 tons of oil, 100 tons of flour, 80 tons of pasta, 20 tons of salt, 40 tons of powdered milk, 12 tons of baby food, and 9 tons of medication. In total, the 19 trucks contain food sufficient for 1-2 days of consumption.

In an interview with MediaHub.am, one of the truck drivers mentioned that they are waiting for a response from the Russian peacekeepers. According to the source, by the evening of July 27, the fate of the 400 tons of humanitarian cargo will be clear, but he personally does not hope that they will cross into Artsakh.

“It has been stated that the cargo must either be delivered through Azerbaijan’s territory or via Russian peacekeepers. In other words, the Azerbaijanis have made it clear that Armenian trucks will not pass through the Lachin corridor under any circumstances,” he said, recalling that the Azerbaijani side had announced yesterday that sending humanitarian aid to Artsakh via this route is considered a provocation.

He also mentioned that many people like him believe they will not cross from there; instead, the final decision will be made by the Russian peacekeepers. It is worth noting that on July 26, 19 trucks carrying essential food and goods headed to Kornidzor, from where, most likely, 400 tons of humanitarian aid will be transferred to the Armenians of Artsakh under the escort of Russian peacekeepers.
