Climbers Transporting Mercedes Sprinter Collides with GAZ 53, Resulting in 20 Injured
Around 18:30, a collision occurred between a Mercedes Sprinter microbus and a GAZ-53 truck on the 94 km stretch of the Yerevan-Vanadzor highway. This was reported by Shamshyan.com.
As a result of the accident, 20 individuals sustained varying degrees of injuries and were transported to the 'Aparan' medical center. Citizens were the first to provide assistance, followed by responders from the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Rescue Service and medical personnel from the 'Aparan' medical center.
Doctors provided first aid to the injured on-site before their transfer to the hospital. Several victims were taken to the hospital by citizens and patrol cars from the Rapid Response Unit of the police department of Aragatsotn province.
Following the collision, both vehicles veered off the roadway and ended up in a field. An investigation has been initiated by the Aparan Investigative Division regarding the incident. Police and investigative services are working to clarify the identities of the drivers and the injured.
By order of the investigator, the vehicles are being moved to a designated secure area of the Aparan police department. According to G. Shamshyan's reports, climbers were present in the Mercedes Sprinter.
