Video: When Did You Realize That Artsakh is Azerbaijan? Journalist Voices the Question from the Father of a Fallen Soldier

During a press conference, a journalist relayed questions from Ashot Zakaryan, the father of David Zakaryan, who was killed in the 44-day war, to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The first question was about when and after which events Pashinyan realized that Artsakh is Azerbaijan, and why he declared on August 5, 2019, that ‘Artsakh is Armenia, and that’s it.’ The father sought clarification on whether the soldiers were serving in Azerbaijan or in Armenian Artsakh.

‘That question is of course related to the service of the boys and has also been discussed during working meetings. I must also state that, unfortunately or fortunately, I did not make that decision regarding the service of the boys without nuance. Regarding the question of recognizing Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, the Republic of Armenia has always recognized Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, but this has not always been declared and recorded,’ Pashinyan noted.
