VIDEO. Armed Forces Were Ready to Face Forces Exceeding Them by Two to Three Times - Tonoyan

Former Defense Minister David Tonoyan participated in the session of the investigative committee on the 44-day war. He stated, "Considering that I served in the Ministry of Defense for a fairly long time as the first deputy, and my absence from the Ministry was only one and a half years due to other duties, in relation to my responsibilities, the situation of the armed forces was assessed as sufficient in terms of ensuring the security of Armenia and the people of Artsakh, and that provision was also placed on the armed forces. The armed forces were ready to confront forces two to three times exceeding them, taking into account readiness, geography, and the positions where our armed forces were located," Tonoyan noted.

It is worth mentioning that David Tonoyan, who has been in prison for more than a year and a half, recently announced that he submitted a request to the Anti-Corruption Court on July 4, asking for permission to attend the parliamentary committee session. He emphasized that he decided to provide explanations in response to the statements made by Nikol Pashinyan and former Chief of General Staff Onik Gasparyan. "Having played a key role in the management of the war, I have much to say to the committee," he declared.
