Video: One Person Dies After Pedestrian Bridge Collapse in Russia

A pedestrian bridge has collapsed in the city of Luga, located in Russia's Leningrad region, resulting in the death of one individual. Four others have been injured, with one in critical condition in intensive care, according to the publication 78.ru.

It has been clarified that the bridge is located near a dam close to a sports complex. An eyewitness to the incident told the publication that a Slavic cultural festival called "Olgin's Shore" is currently taking place in Luga. He noted that people were on the bridge waiting for an actress dressed as Princess Olga to sail on the Luga River.

"Probably, the bridge could not withstand the weight of the large number of people," the source said.

The investigative department of the Leningrad region has announced on Telegram that they are looking into the circumstances of the incident.
