Fishing Vessel Loaded with Tons of Cocaine Discovered

A fishing vessel off the coast of Sicily has been found and seized with a record quantity of cocaine. The ship contained 5.3 tons of cocaine, valued at 850 million euros. This information was reported by ANSA.

Following the incident, 20 individuals were arrested, including five crew members from the vessel, as well as 15 others from a Palauan-flagged merchant ship through which the drugs were transported.

The arrested individuals included Ukrainians, Turks, and Azerbaijanis. After the incident, police transported the vessels to the port of Palermo. Among the total arrested are also citizens of Italy, Tunisia, and France.
