Explosion Near China's Consulate in Odesa

An explosion occurred near China’s consulate in Odesa on Thursday, damaging the building. The staff of the diplomatic mission has been evacuated, and there are no reported injuries, according to a representative of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"An explosion thundered near China’s consulate in Odesa, causing part of a wall and windows to shatter from the shock wave," the diplomat stated in response to journalists’ inquiries about whether the damage was caused by shelling from the Russian Federation in Odesa.

The response is posted on the official website of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It was noted that the diplomatic mission's personnel were evacuated and that there were no injuries.

"China pays great attention to the relevant trends, continues to communicate with the relevant parties, and is taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of Chinese institutions and personnel in Ukraine," the diplomat emphasized.
