Tragic Accident Victims Were Two Brothers, One Celebrating Army Discharge

On July 18, a devastating accident involving five cars occurred on the Yeravan-Eraskh road, resulting in the deaths of Masis Juroyan and Shant Juroyan, residents of Pokr Vedi. Former village mayor Norik Martirosyan informed NEWS.am that Masis and Shant were brothers.

“Masis had just been discharged from the army recently, and on that day, they were celebrating a wedding and his army discharge at the 'Ararat' restaurant. On their way back, the brothers were in a BMW. When the accident happened, Masis died on the spot, while his older brother Shant succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The driver of an Infiniti saw the accident, stopped his car, and got out to help, but then a Mercedes hit him,” the former mayor recounted.

It is noted that the serious traffic accident resulted in 3 fatalities and an additional 14 individuals were transported to the hospital with varying degrees of injuries. The Criminal Investigative Department of the Ararat region has initiated a criminal case under part 2 of Article 342 of the RA Criminal Code, which pertains to violations of traffic safety regulations or rules that ensure the safety of road traffic and vehicle operation.
