Situation in Yeraskh: What Did Pashinyan Discuss?
The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made a working visit to the Ararat Province yesterday. According to an official statement, during a meeting held in the city of Artashat, a report on the activities of the Ararat Province governor’s office for 2022 was presented to the Prime Minister, along with the progress of projects being implemented this year.
The official statement informs us that investments in the Ararat Province have decreased since 2018: "In 2018, an investment of 136.7 million drams was made, in 2021 - 116.9 million drams, and in 2022 - 103.4 million drams." Notable attendees of the meeting included Gnel Sanosyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Romanos Petrosyan, Head of the State Oversight Service, Arman Khojoyan, Deputy Minister of Economy, Sedrak Tevonyan, Governor of Ararat Province, and other officials. They discussed the programs implemented from 2018 to 2022 with fully funded budgets, concerning water supply, irrigation, road improvements, renovations and constructions of schools, kindergartens, healthcare institutions, and cultural facilities, while there was no mention of the security situation in the Ararat Province.
"Zhoghovurd" noted that the official statement lacked information about whether the Prime Minister discussed any issues related to the villages of Yeraskh and other areas in Ararat Province that are under fire threat. It appears that Nikol Pashinyan is holding discussions disconnected from reality, failing to address the real risks facing our country.
