Major Accident: 1 Dead and 16 Injured
On July 18, at 00:42, the crisis management center of the Ararat regional rescue department received a report that an accident had occurred on the 32nd km of the Artashat-Shahumyan road, resulting in injuries.
A firefighting and rescue crew from the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. It was revealed that vehicles involved in the accident included a BMW, Ford Transit, Mercedes-Benz, Infiniti, and GAZel. One citizen was declared dead, and 16 others sustained injuries.
The rescuers transported the injured individuals, including G. Kh. (born in 1990), G. P. (born in 1987), G. H. (born in 1982), Sh. Zh. (born in 1998), A. S. (born in 2001), G. H. (born in 2002), A. H. (born in 2005), A. M. (born in 1964), A. G. (born in 1995), Kh. M. (born in 1987), A. K., V. P. (born in 1988), H. A. (born in 1992), A. A. (born in 1971), and one unidentified individual, to the ambulances. The injured were hospitalized at the Artashat Medical Center, where A. G., A. K., and the unidentified individual were later transferred to Erebuni Medical Center.
Citizen V. P. (born in 1979), while providing assistance at the scene, was hit by a vehicle and transported to the Artashat Medical Center, and subsequently to the Heratsi Number 1 Hospital Complex.
The rescuers disconnected the vehicles from power and closed the gas cylinder valves. The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Director of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Colonel Kamo Tsutsulyan, was present at the scene.
