Former Russian Colonel Vladimir Kvachkov Accused of Discrediting the Russian Army
Former Colonel Vladimir Kvachkov of the Russian Main Intelligence Directorate has been accused of discrediting the Russian army. This has been reported by Russian media.
The essence of the charges has not been disclosed. It is only known that it is under an administrative, and not a criminal code article, and that Kvachkov has been summoned to the police for a report to be filed.
Vladimir Kvachkov, a veteran of the Afghan war and the civil war in Tajikistan, is known for his extreme conservative views.
He actively supports the war in Ukraine, while simultaneously criticizing the current Russian authorities and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense.
“Vladimir Kvachkov just confirmed to me over the phone that a case has been opened against him for discrediting the army,” wrote Sava Fedoseyev, a member of the St. Petersburg cell of the political movement “Obshchestvo.Budushcheye.”
Information regarding the initiation of the case has been confirmed to the Telegram channel “Ostorozhno, Novosti” by Kvachkov’s wife, Nadezhda.
