VIDEO: Incident on the Crimean Bridge; traffic is halted, couple killed, child hospitalized, sources say
Russian Telegram channels, citing their sources, report that a married couple from the Belgorod region has died in a car on the Crimean Bridge. This was reported by the BBC's Russian service.
According to SHOT and BAZA, the deceased were a 40-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman. Their 14-year-old daughter survived but was seriously injured and has been hospitalized.
Previously, various users on social media published videos of the car accident on the bridge, showing bodies inside the vehicle, while the girl was partially protruding from the car window. Based on the vehicle's license plates, the family was from the Belgorod region.
However, it remains unclear what exactly transpired. Authorities have informed about the extraordinary incident.
The head of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, stated that law enforcement and all responsible services are working on the case: “I have spoken with the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, Vitaly Gennadievich Savelyev, and measures are being taken to address the situation,” Aksyonov said. Traffic is expected to resume at 9 AM.
