Citizen in Sevan Goes Out on Jet Ski and Cannot Return; Drone Deployed
The Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs Rescue Service reported that on July 15, at 21:02, the emergency situation center of the Gegharkunik regional rescue department received information that around 19:00, a citizen had gone out on a water motorcycle in one of the recreation areas around Lake Sevan and could not return to the shore, necessitating the assistance of rescuers.
A response team from the special water rescue unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was dispatched to the scene, alongside a rescue group from the specialized rescue operations center.
Rescue divers conducted search operations in Lake Sevan, employing a motorboat and also utilizing a drone. Search efforts were also extended to the coastal areas around the town of Gavar.
At 23:20, it was reported that a Russian citizen, identified as N. Ch., was found near the "Noy Land" recreation area, approximately 400 meters from the shore in the lake.
It became clear that the fuel of the water motorcycle had run out, preventing the citizen from returning to the shore. The individual was subsequently brought ashore by local forces near the village of Norashen.
