7.4 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Alaska

A 7.4 magnitude earthquake has struck near the shores of Alaska, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The epicenter of the quake was located 106 kilometers from the sparsely populated city of Sand Point, with a depth of 9.3 kilometers.

Initially, the U.S. Geological Survey reported the earthquake as 7.3 magnitude, but soon revised the magnitude to 7.4.

Following the earthquake, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a warning about the potential threat of dangerous waves in Alaska.
