Sukiasyan Questions Oskenyan's Ability to Resolve Issues After Ten Years as Foreign Minister
During a conversation with journalists, Khachatur Sukiasyan, a member of the 'Civil Contract' faction in the National Assembly, addressed former Foreign Minister Vardan Oskenyan's recent statement regarding his ability to change the course of Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations if given the authority with a group of diplomats.
'Vardan Oskenyan is the person who once advised that Nagorno-Karabakh should be excluded from negotiations. We must first understand what level of damages Karabakh sustained after that before we can understand what anyone is saying. Now, everything is very transparent and democratic, and people do not forget the mistakes that a person has made during their career. That man has not been in Armenia for ten years; our bodies must clarify what he has been engaged in and who he is. If he was the foreign minister for ten years, how come he didn't resolve this issue, and now he comes and expects to fix it in three months?' said Sukiasyan.
Sukiasyan emphasized that the relevant authorities need to thoroughly investigate Oskenyan's activities over the last 30 years.
