Baku-Stepanakert Dialogue is Very Important, Says Pashinyan
The dialogue between Baku and Stepanakert within the framework of the international mechanism is extremely important for ensuring the security and rights of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh. This statement was made by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a government meeting.
“The binding decision of the International Court of Justice provides an opportunity to ensure greater international consolidation to counteract Azerbaijan’s policy of ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh,” he said.
Pashinyan reminded that the decision of the International Court of Justice reaffirms and further strengthens the Azerbaijani government’s responsibility for the deepening humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh.
“Azerbaijan’s so-called 'environmental' activity, however, continues, and now this country is trying to present Armenia with environmental accusations at both official and unofficial levels. Moreover, Azerbaijan attributes to Armenia mineral resources that simply do not exist, raises circumstances that are fictitious, and points to decisions that refer to completely different matters,” emphasized the Prime Minister.
He assured that organizations in both the public and private sectors of Armenia are demonstrating the absurdity of Azerbaijan’s allegations.
The Prime Minister concluded his speech by quoting the environmental policy and law center at Yale University, which published a ranking of the world's most ecologically clean countries in 2022, where Armenia was ranked 56th, while Azerbaijan was ranked 104th.
It is noteworthy that the International Court of Justice unanimously reaffirmed its decision of February 22, 2023, on July 6, obligating Azerbaijan again to take all available measures to ensure the unimpeded movement of persons, vehicles, and goods along the Lachin corridor in both directions.
