Details on the Stabbing Incident of a 23-Year-Old: Police

On July 6, at 11:30 PM, a call was received at the operative management center of the Tavush region police from the "Dilijan" medical center. A 23-year-old resident of Teghut village was transported for medical assistance, according to police reports.

The report was forwarded to the Dilijan division of the police, from where an operational team headed to the hospital, but it was only possible to ascertain that the victim suffered deep stab wounds to the chest and abdomen, injuries sustained in their village.

Dilijan's criminal investigators began work on the case, but it quickly became clear that solving the crime required collaborative efforts. A criminal proceeding was initiated at the Dilijan investigative department, in which partners from the Tavush regional department, Sevan, and Kotayk divisions also participated.

It was revealed that on July 6, a group of young people aged 20-23 from various localities in Gegharkunik and Kotayk regions had gone to a guesthouse in Teghut village to celebrate a friend's birthday. Around 10:30 PM, a dispute arose between the event participants and a young resident of Teghut, along with a 15-year-old boy, related to the loud music, which escalated and ended in a stabbing incident.

One participant from the celebration, a 20-year-old resident of Abovyan city, stabbed the 23-year-old from Teghut twice with a knife he had. As a result of subsequent measures, on July 8, two young men involved in the dispute were found, arrested, and brought to the Dilijan investigative division with prepared documents.

Efforts are ongoing to locate other participants in the dispute and the murder weapon.
