Waste Burning Again in Nubarashen Landfill

Waste has burned in a 3000 sq. m area at the Nubarashen landfill. This information was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia.

It is noted that the alert regarding the fire was received by the Ministry on July 8 at 22:30.

Firefighting efforts at the scene involved four combat teams from the Fire and Rescue Department of Yerevan, a water supply unit from the Yerevan Municipality, and one tractor.

The fire was contained on July 9 at 07:12. As of July 10 at 18:45, operations at the Nubarashen landfill have been halted.

It is worth recalling that a fire had broken out at the Nubarashen landfill on June 13 at 04:49 and was extinguished on June 16. Prior to that, a fire had also occurred on May 18, with approximately 1000 cubic meters of waste burning across an area of about 5 hectares. That fire was finally extinguished on May 27.
