Mercedes Crashes into Truck in Vayots Dzor: 2 Dead, 3 Injured

A tragic car accident occurred in the Vayots Dzor region. According to reports from shamshyan.com, on July 8 at around 23:20, 27-year-old Aram Hakobyan, a resident of Agavnatdzor village, crashed his Mercedes vehicle into a KamAZ truck that was parked on the side of the road in the administrative area of Arpi village, belonging to 46-year-old Vardan Hakobyan from Ararat province.

As a result of the collision, a passenger of the Mercedes, 58-year-old Baytun Grigoryan from Agavnatdzor village, died on the way to the “Yeghegnadzor” medical center. Driver A. Hakobyan and other passengers, 45-year-old Susanna Baghdasaryan, also from Agavnatdzor, 45-year-old Lusine Sahakyan, and 11-year-old Alex Jaghazpanian from Yerevan were taken to the medical center with bodily injuries. Among the injured, Susanna Baghdasaryan succumbed to her injuries in the operating room. The other two were transported to hospitals in Yerevan by ambulance.

Citizens, the KamAZ driver, and firefighters were the first to provide assistance to the injured. The KamAZ was loaded with cement and had a technical problem. The driver had parked the vehicle in a permissible area to resolve this issue.

A criminal case has been initiated by the Vayots Dzor regional investigative department regarding the incident.
