Martakert Resident Finds Bodies of Two Young Children in His Car: Details
On July 7, at 10:00 PM, a resident of the village of Aghabekalanj in the Martakert region, identified as V.N., reported to the police that he had left his two minor children, 3-year-old L.N. and 6-year-old G.N., home alone around 2:00 PM the same day while he went to work in Martakert city.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Artsakh Republic, V.N. returned home around 5:30 PM and noticed that the children were missing. The report was also forwarded to the regional department of the Emergency Situations State Service, after which the search for the children began.
On the morning of July 8 at 7:30 AM, a resident of Martakert, A.G., alerted the authorities that he had discovered the lifeless bodies of two children in his BMW vehicle on Gurgen Nzhdeh Street. Police officers who arrived at the scene determined that A.G. had opened the door of his car parked on the same street for inspection around 7:25 AM and found the bodies of the children who had been missing since July 7.
Investigations have confirmed that the minor children had entered Martakert city on their own and subsequently opened the car's rear door, where they fell asleep on the seat. Preliminary data suggests that the cause of death was the high temperature inside the vehicle. The investigation is being conducted by the investigative committee.
