Child Wakes Up and Goes in Search of Mother, Reaching Martakert on Foot: Details of the Children's Death Incident
In the village of Aghabekalanj, in the Martakert region of Artsakh, two underage children were left at home by their mother, who walked to Martakert to bring food for them. This information was provided to NEWS.am by Arsen Avanesyan, the administrative head of Martakert.
“The village is close to Martakert; the mother walked to the city to take food to the children, leaving a 3-year-old sleeping toddler and a 6-year-old girl at home. During this time, the child woke up and started searching for their mother, reaching Martakert on foot, and it got dark, leading to the incident,” he said, noting that locals are walking back and forth due to the lack of fuel caused by the blockade.
Avanesyan also reported that the woman has another daughter. Earlier, the Police of Artsakh announced that on July 8 at 7:30 AM, a call was received from a resident of Martakert, A.G., reporting that two deceased children had been found in a BMW vehicle owned by him on G.Nzhdeh Street. Upon arriving at the scene, police officers established that around 7:25 AM, A.G. opened the door of the aforementioned vehicle parked on the same street for verification purposes and discovered the bodies of the children who had been missing since July 7.
As part of the investigation, all surveillance cameras were checked, which recorded that the minor children had entered the city of Martakert on their own, later opening the back door of the specified car and sleeping on the bench. According to preliminary data, the cause of death was the high temperature inside the vehicle.
It should be noted that a criminal case has been initiated in the Artsakh Investigative Committee regarding the incident.
