Lawyers Demand Resignation of Armenian Police Chief, Set to Begin Three-Day Strike

Protests by lawyers have not received an adequate response. Lawyer Ruben Melikyan wrote this on his Facebook page.

“Therefore, a more forceful demand is being formulated: the resignation of the Chief of Police, Aram Hovhannisyan, and a three-day strike has been declared from July 11 to 13 on that basis,” he stated.

It is noteworthy that on June 26, lawyers announced a one-day strike. According to them, the reason for this is the increase in cases of violence against lawyers in police departments.
