What the Equipment Installed on the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan Road Section Is For: Clarification
The Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center has issued a clarification: "Dear citizens, in recent days, there has been an active discussion on social media regarding what the equipment installed on the 57 km section of the M-4 highway between Yerevan and Sevan-Ijevan is.
The State Hydro-Meteorological Service of Armenia reports that this is an automatic roadside meteorological station acquired with the assistance of the UNDP, which measures and provides information on the following meteorological parameters every 10 minutes: horizontal visibility, air temperature, wind direction and speed, precipitation amounts, as well as information about the condition of the highway.
The data received is crucial for making weather forecasts. Furthermore, in the near future, the station will be equipped with a sign, and drivers on the highway will receive information about the current meteorological conditions.
